WEIGEL BROADCASTING CO. has launched Classic Hits 87.7 MeTV FM, offering what it claims to be a “distinctive ‘Me Music’ sound featuring a deep playlist of classic pop and timeless tracks.” To guide the station’s programming and branding, MeTV FM has appointed MARK ZANDER PD and MIKE HORN as Imaging Dir.
“87.7 MeTV FM will differ from the current Classic Hits format by playing a much broader range of music skewing on the pop/softer side including singer/songwriters, album tracks and hits deemed “oldies” by some programmers but considered gold by our target audience”, MeTV FM Founder NEAL SABIN said. “This is “Me Music” -- memorable, easy music for everyone.”
ZANDER boasts over 25 years of radio programming and on-air experience, including numerous CHICAGO and surrounding area radio stations, and most recently oversaw production company 4C STUDIOS, which syndicates The Rockin’ '80s and The Rockin’ '70s.
“I have long-admired the work NEAL SABIN has done on the television side with WEIGEL BROADCASTING,” ZANDER said. “I’m excited to be a part of bringing the MeTV brand to the radio, and beyond!” said.
HORN spent 18 years at WBBM-A, B96 and since 1999, operated imaging service MICHAEL HORN PRODUCTIONS. He is also a voiceover artist who has been heard on B96 as a fill-in on-air personality, known as BLUE MIKE.
“I am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such an enthusiastic and passionate team. It’s truly fulfilling to be involved in the construction of a radio station that is unlike anything else on the dial today, HORN said. “From the minute I met with NEAL SABIN and KYLE WALKER, I knew that MeTV FM would be a perfect fit.”
