Today marks the 20th year of the passing of one of one of the radio and music industries' greatest friends and a promotion icon, CHARLIE MINOR. Sadly, CHARLIE was shot in his home in MALIBU, CA on SUNDAY, MARCH 19th, 1995, by a former female friend who lost it over their brief relationship.
ALL ACCESS President/Publisher JOEL DENVER recalled, "I will never forget that day. VICKI LEBEN called me -- and it was one of those moments I will never, ever forget. We both cried for our friend, CHARLIE.
"However, today, I chose to remember the good things about CHARLIE and our 25+ year friendship. CHARLIE was simply the best promotion exec, ever. Fun, charming, witty, knowledgeable, well-connected, and did I mention, fun?
"Known for putting together some of the most fun parties, CHARLIE was the party -- as host and in spirit. He made everyone feel special.
"When CHARLIE was working you on a song, he'd be all over you like a cheap suit until you played it ... and even if it never got out of New Music, CHARLIE had a way of making you not feel so bad for playing a stiff for him."
"CHARLIE left an indelible and positive mark on the industry, on his many, many, many friends, and for sure, on me. GOD bless you, CHARLIE MINOR. You are still missed, and will always be remembered."
