FCC's O'Rielly Hopes Commission Will Act 'Very Soon' On AM Revitalization
April 2, 2015 at 4:22 AM (PT)
FCC Commissioner MIKE O'RIELLY told the ASSOCIATION OF NATIONAL ADVERTISERS WEDNESDAY (4/2) that he hopes the Commission will move quickly on the AM revitalization issue.
In remarks otherwise focused on issues like the Open Internet order, TV spectrum incentive auctions, and robo-calling rules, O'RIELLY noted that "On the radio side, the marketplace is notably difficult. AM radio is facing a number of issues and a declining audience. The Commission has before it a number of proposals to help revitalize the industry by removing FCC barriers and restrictions, and I hope the FCC will act very soon on this item."
