A Twitter disagreement between former SIRIUSXM and CBS RADIO duo OPIE AND ANTHONY has erupted into something more personal TODAY, with OPIE calling ANTHONY CUMIA "human garbage."

OPIE, who continued hosting at SIRIUSXM with JIM NORTON after CUMIA's firing last year in the wake of tweets about an incident involving a fight with a woman over photo-taking in TIMES SQUARE, and CUMIA, who now hosts a daily subscription web video show, have been sparring for several days over OPIE's role in contract negotiations with SIRIUSXM when the pair were still together, with OPIE saying that ANTHONY "absolutely knew I was bluffing" by asking for only one year instead of the five-year deal CUMIA says he wanted and CUMIA responding, "I swear, @OpieRadio can say we all knew that it was a 'bluff,' but EVERYONE on staff had no clue if we had a job within minutes of a deadline ... short deals were never about $."

"I'm so f-cking tired of hearing how I wanted to move on from the show," CUMIA tweeted. "Total bull sh-t. I wasn't bitching every day how I wasn't re signing.... Honesty, @OpieRadio, I'm not the one to try to pull a "radio bit." I'd just rather have it aired out on-air. Where no one can pull bullsh-t ...  I hear, @OpieRadio has clout at SIRIUS. Go to your handlers and tell them to let me on your show. Apparently they know good radio ... now."  OPIE posting, "5 years at the same salary with no raise or get a raise every 2 years. #DoTheMath" and "Yuck you want to do a radio bit? Stop manipulating the haters and exaggerating the truth and I'll meet you for a beer @AnthonyCumia."  CUMIA responded, "The biggest raise @OpieRadio got during the SIRIUS/XM tenure was after I was fired ... F-ck this social media sh-t @OpieRadio, your show or mine. No 140 char limit. Let's talk it out how it should be. On-air. Pick a day."

But after OPIE posted a video of bridges exploding and the iconic scene from "An Officer and a Gentleman" in which RICHARD GERE refuses to D.O.R. (quit) and cries "I got nowhere else to go," OPIE posted, "you still are human garbage. Might want to look into what really is eating at you.  I'm not the problem in the end."

CUMIA's response was "Owch," then "My comments were at least respectful. Oh well."

OPIE will return to the air from MONDAY's scheduled day off on TUESDAY.
