THE CROMWELL GROUP Sports WPRT-F (ESPN 102.5 THE GAME)/NASHVILLE is revamping its lineup to add former TENNESSEE TITANS GM FLOYD REESE as the new co-host with GEORGE PLASTER and WILLY DAUNIC on "SPORTS NIGHT" 3-6p (CT) weeknights. REESE will take the spot of DARREN MCFARLAND, who moves to a new local noon-3p show with former TITANS wide receiver DERRICK MASON, replacing ESPN RADIO's SCOTT VAN PELT and RYEN RUSSILLO. The changes take effect MONDAY (4/13).
Changes will also affect sister Sports WQZQ-A-W235BW (94.9 GAME 2), which will launch a new local 6-9a (CT) weekday morning show with UNION BROADCASTING Sports WHBE-A (ESPN 680)/LOUISVILLE host JARED STILLMAN joining current 1-3p host TOM CALLAHAN starting APRIL 20th. The present "A TO Z SPORTS" local show with AUSTIN STANLEY and ZACH BINGHAM moves from 10a-1p to 9a-noon, bumping BILL KING out of 9-10a. VAN PELT and RUSSILLO's show moves from 102.5 to 94.9 for noon-3p, and the GAME 2 will continue to simulcast "SPORTS NIGHT" with 102.5.
PD JEREMY BENNEFIELD said, "Listeners already expect us to be the authoritative voice on hockey and baseball as we are the originating station of both the NASHVILLE PREDATORS and the NASHVILLE SOUNDS. These additions will also help us offer an unmatched perspective on the TITANS and the NFL to our listeners across the region."
Market Manager JANA HAMPTON said, "The new shows integrated with great programming from ESPN that includes MIKE AND MIKE, COLIN COWHERD and SCOTT VAN PELT allows us to offer NASHVILLE sports fans the best of both local sports, as well as the big major stories across the country covered by ESPN.”
