DANIEL DUMAN Classic Rock KUPS (CLASSIC ROCK104.5)/CORPUS CHIRIST and sister station Oldies/Adult Hits KAJE (JAKE 107.3)/INGLESIDE, TX are presenting "A Night of Classic TEXAS Rock," featuring POINT BLANK and the TEXAS BLUES RUNNERS, FRIDAY, APRIL 17th at BREWER STREET ICEHOUSE as part of the stations' "Free Concert Series." Free tickets will be handed out at TOBACCO WORLD (5717 SARATOGA) while they last.
POINT BLANK was formed in 1974 with legendary ZZ TOP manager/producer BILL HAM and quickly established themselves among the stalwarts of the Southern Rock movement, touring extensively with the OUTLAWS, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, ZZ TOP, CHARLIE DANIELS and the MARSHALL TUCKER BAND. Over the course of 10 years, the band released two albums for ARISTA RECORDS and four for MCA, with hits including the TEXAS-rock anthem, "Free Man."
The AUSTIN-based TEXAS BLUES RUNNERS have played on several concerts in the SOUTH TEXAS area and their hit, “Somebody Bring Me Some Water," from their first album received heavy radio airplay. The band has just released their second album, “Sweet Mama."
