Cassandra Wilson's Billie Holiday Tribute To Air Live On SiriusXM

CASSANDRA WILSON's concert celebrating the legacy of BILLIE HOLIDAY will be broadcast live on SIRIUSXM from NEW YORK's APOLLO THEATER today at 8p (ET)/5p (PT) on REAL JAZZ, channel 67, through the SIRIUSXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com.

The performance honors BILLIE HOLIDAY’s 100th birthday and will feature the GRAMMY winner performing music from her new album "Coming Forth By Day," an homage to HOLIDAY, which was released on this past TUESDAY.

After the broadcast, the concert will be available on SIRIUSXM On Demand.

WILSON’s musical homage to the legendary jazz vocalist showcases her contemporary yet timeless interpretations of HOLIDAY’s performances.  Produced by NICK LAUNAY (known for his work with NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS), the album was released on the 100th anniversary of the singer’s birth and features 11 re-interpretations of standards associated with Lady Day plus an original penned by WILSON, “Last Song (For LESTER).”
