Randy Travis: ACM Welcome 'An Amazing Gift'
April 20, 2015 at 9:36 AM (PT)
The presence of RANDY TRAVIS at last night’s (4/19) "50TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) AWARDS," and the acknowledgement of his career contributions by presenter LEE BRICE, was arguably one of the evening’s most heartfelt moments. TRAVIS has been largely out of the spotlight while recovering from a life-threatening stroke suffered in 2013 (NET NEWS 7/10/13).
This morning (4/20), TRAVIS posted a note of thanks to fans and supporters that is equally heartwarming. "It was an amazing gift to feel all the love from you tonight," wrote TRAVIS. "It has been a hard fought and miraculous journey since my stroke two years ago, and I have gained a greater understanding of GOD’s grace and how quickly events can change us." TRAVIS went on to indicate that he’s determined to continue his career. "It is my prayer that with continued healing, one day soon I will be back on that stage, exchanging music with my fans ... As I work though music/speech/occupational therapy, it is my hope that my songs of yesterday continue to touch your life in some way." Read the entire note here.
