Radio was front and center at last night’s ADVERTISING HALL OF FAME induction ceremony, with both iHEARTMEDIA Chairman/CEO BOB PITTMAN and RADIO ONE Founder CATHERINE HUGHES being honored for their contributions to advertising. Others inducted last night were legends CHUCK PORTER of CRISPIN PORTER BOGUSKY; LEE CLOW of TBWA; JOHN ADAMS of THE MARTIN AGENCY; SPIKE LEE of SPIKE DDB (as well as actor and director); LINDA KAPLAN THALER of PUBLICIS KAPLAN THALER; and the actor, author and philanthropist MICHAEL J. FOX.
Advertising’s all-stars turned out as well, including MIKE ROTH, CEO of IPG; ANDREW ROBERTSON, CEO of BBDO; BILL KOENIGSBERG of HORIZON MEDIA, COLIN KINSELLA of MINDSHARE, BRAD JAKEMAN and FRANK COOPER of PEPSICO, MARTINE REARDON, CMO of MACY’S; DOUG MORRIS, CEO of SONY MUSIC; CHRIS PENROSE, EVP and Internet of Things for AT&T, VALERIE VARGAS and CHRIS PENROSE, also of AT&T; and many more in a crowd of over 1,000 people who turned out to honor this group.
