FACEBOOK's Q1 report card produced mixed results featuring massive numbers -- but not massive enough to meet expectations. Revenue of $3.54 billion fell short of estimates of $3.56 billion; that sent FACEBOOK shares 1.6% lower.
FACEBOOK reported 1.44 billion monthly users (up 3.6%), 936 million daily users, 1.25 billion mobile monthly users (up 5%), and 798 million daily mobile users (up 7.1%). What's more, 581 million users access FACEBOOK only via mobile, an increase of over 10%.
The bottom line: Ad revenue hit $3.32 billion in Q1, with Mobile generating 73% of that revenue. That's a 42% increase year-over-year on 17% daily user growth.
