ALPHA MEDIA Top 40 WNGY (ENERGY 102.3)/PEORIA, PD/afternoon host CHRIS "LUCKY" STEWART and night jock SCOTTY will attempt to shatter a world record for the Longest Tag-Team Radio Broadcast by a Disk Jockey Duo. The current record is 80 hours according to recordsetter.com.
The dynamic duo will attempt a 102-hour broadcast beginning next MONDAY (4/27) at 11am. If successful, it will be completed FRIDAY, MAY 1st at 5p. To qualify for the record, the crew must identify the station after every song and reside in the studio for the entirety of the record breaking attempt. They're undertaking this effort to bring attention to Child Abuse Awareness Month this APRIL.
STEWART said, "Our goal during the record breaking broadcast attempt is to encourage parents to talk to their children about abuse and to educate the community about resources that are available if abuse occurs."
SCOTTY’s enthusiasm speaks for itself. He simply said, "Let’s do it!"
