ED STOLZ is at it again with a petition for reconsideration of the denial of his challenge to the renewals of ENTERCOM's licenses for News-Talk WBEN-A and Sports WWKB-A (ESPN 1520)/BUFFALO and Alternative KNRK (94/7 ALTERNATIVE PORTLAND)/CAMAS-PORTLAND, OR. STOLZ is filing the petitions, similar to those he filed against the license renewals for ENTERCOM's BOSTON cluster, as executor of his late wife IRENE M. STOLZ' estate. Previous informal objections by the STOLZES to the WBEN, WWKB, and KNRK license renewals were denied by the FCC in MARCH.
The Petition for Reconsideration reiterates STOLZ' contention that the fatal "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest at KDND/SACRAMENTO in 2007 disqualifies ENTERCOM as a licensee on character grounds. STOLZ has been battling ENTERCOM since the latter bought KWOD (now KBZC)/SACRAMENTO from him in 1996 and ENTERCOM sued him for allegedly attempting to back out of the deal.
