The MINNESOTA VIKINGS have inked a five-year extension of their deal with iHEARTMEDIA Sports KFXN (KFAN 100.3) and News-Talk KTLK-A/MINNEAPOLIS. KFAN will remain the flagship for the NFL franchise, with the games airing on KTLK as well, as the team prepares to move from its temporary home at the UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA's TCF BANK STADIUM to its new stadium on the site of the old METRODOME in 2016.
“Our focus as an organization is always to provide the best fan experience possible, regardless of whether those fans are attending games at the stadium, watching on television or listening on the radio,” said VIKINGS EVP/Chief Marketing Officer STEVE LACROIX. “Reaching this agreement means we can continue to offer VIKINGS fans the best radio broadcast team in the NFL as we open the new stadium in 2016 and beyond. We are excited to extend and grow this partnership with not just KFAN but all iHEARTMEDIA stations.”
"iHEARTMEDIA-MINNEAPOLIS is proud to continue the tradition of MINNESOTA VIKINGS football on KFAN and all of our brands,” said Market President JEFF TYLER. “We’re excited to provide content and promotional support to all VIKINGS fans as the anticipation for the new stadium grows.”
KFAN will broadcast live from the NEW STADIUM PREVIEW CENTER on FRIDAY (5/1) with PAUL ALLEN (also the VIKINGS' play-by-play voice) 9a-noon (CT), and sister Classic Hits KQQL (KOOL 108) host LEE VALSVIK will follow with a live broadcast noon-3p; Country KEEY (K102) afternoon host MIKE "MUSS" MUSSMANN will be there live 3-6p.
