Disney Music Group Taps Karen Lieberman As VP/Sales & Digital

KAREN LIEBERMAN has been appointed to the newly created position of VP/Sales and Digital for the DISNEY MUSIC GROUP by SVP /Global Business Operations and Distribution DAVID ABDO.
LIEBERMAN comes to DMG from KOBALT MUSIC, where she was VP/Digital Marketing & Strategy, developing and executing the publishing company's marketing and sales plans. She liaised closely with KOBALT’s synch department to maximize exposure for their clients, and implemented proprietary technology systems, as well as sought out new digital companies for business development.
Prior to KOBALT, LIEBERMAN was VP/Global Marketing at SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, where she spearheaded global digital marketing campaigns for artists such as MICHAEL JACKSON, BRITNEY SPEARS, BEYONCE, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and SHAKIRA. She also served in a variety of capacities at RCA MUSIC GROUP, ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP, POLYGRAM and UNIVERSAL RECORDS.
As VP/Sales & Digital at DMG, LIEBERMAN will be developing campaigns and strategies for a variety of upcoming releases, including ZZ WARD, DEMI LOVATO, GRACE POTTER, R5, BREAKING BENJAMIN and soundtracks for "Teen Beach 2," “Descendants,” MARVEL FILMS and the "Star Wars" franchise. The previously separate sales and digital marketing staffs will report to LIBERMAN, who will be based at the company's BURBANK, CA, headquarters.
