Jodi Becker To Exit WTMJ

SCRIPPS News-Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE "MILWAUKEE'S MORNING NEWS" co-anchor JODI BECKER has resigned from the station, effective MAY 29th. BECKER joined WTMJ in 2009 from iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES and has won several awards, including a regional EDWARD R. MURROW Award; she is leaving to spend more time with her family (including a three-year-old son and a daughter who will be one year old in JULY).
A memo to staff from VP/GM TOM LANGMYER called BECKER "a leader in our newsroom and a strong voice at WTMJ. During the past few years, JODI continued to grow greatly as she moved into WISCONSIN'S MORNING NEWS WITH GENE MUELLER. When the structure of the program changed to have more of GENE and JODI, the news content was broadened and a more conversational approach was added -- JODI excelled even further. JODI and the 'WISCONSIN'S MORNING NEWS Team' are a big reason for the incredible growth in WTMJ's overall ratings in the past year or so ... Of course, we are sad to see her moving on -- but very happy for her, as well."
The station is now looking for a successor as MUELLER's co-host.
