CLIVE DAVIS, BURT BACHARACH, CHARLI XCX and "Frozen" film composer CHRISTOPHE BECK will be among the top music and entertainment industry VIPs who will gather at the 11th annual SONGS OF HOPE to raise funds for cancer research at CITY OF HOPE. The event will be held JUNE 11th at the HOUSE OF FAIR, the L.A. home of music producer RON FAIR.
Among the awards recipients: BURT BACHARACH will receive the "CLIVE DAVIS LEGEND IN SONGWRITING AWARD; CHARLI XCX will receive the "MARTIN BANDIER VANGUARD AWARD," and CHRISTOPHE BECK will receive the ELECTRONIC ARTS COMPOSER AWARD.
The celebration will feature emcee JIMMY JAM, as well as a silent auction featuring rare and one-of-a-kind music/film experiences and autographed items.
The event is again co-chaired by SPIRIT MUSIC GROUP Chairman DAVID RENZER; THE DAVIS FIRM founder DOUG DAVIS; UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP Pres. EVAN LAMBERG, and ELECTRONIC ARTS MUSIC Pres. STEVE SCHNUR. SONG OF HOPE XI music and entertainment presenting and platinum sponsors include CLIVE DAVIS, ELECTRONIC ARTS, MARTIN BANDIER, SONY/ATV, UNIVERSAL MUISIC PUBLISHING, BILLBOARD, VARIETY and LOS ANGELES MAGAZINE.
Said RENZER: “Since founding the SONGS OF HOPE event, we have raised more than $3 million to support CITY OF HOPE and we thank the entertainment community for its support."
Added DOUG DAVIS: “As a cancer survivor, I believe it is imperative to raise funds to continue CITY OF HOPE’s compassionate patient care and groundbreaking research. I feel it is important to celebrate the song and the songwriter, which are often overshadowed by the recording and the artist. SONGS OF HOPE is extra-special for me because I can work hand-in-hand with my father CLIVE DAVIS and celebrate the artistry of BURT BACHARACH, with whom he shared many landmark musical milestones.”
Said LAMBERG: “CITY OF HOPE is where hope lives in every patient and family member that enters their door. It’s an honor to work alongside my co-chairs to continue to raise awareness and monies for a magical place that makes such a big positive difference in people’s lives.”
Concluded SCHNUR: “A decade ago, the music industry was a vastly different environment. But what hasn’t changed – and has in fact grown – is the commitment of SONGS OF HOPE. I am privileged to be a part of this unique event that honors such singular talent while benefitting so many. We are foremost a community, and we invite that community to join us and make a collective difference. It will be a night to remember, guaranteed.”
