4-K'S LLLP has closed on the sale of Sports KDCO-A and K231BQ (MILE HIGH SPORTS RADIO)/GOLDEN-DENVER, CO to MARC PASKIN's MARCO BROADCASTING CORP. for $875,000.
In another filing with the FCC, E-STRING WIRELESS, LTD has closed on the sale of the construction permit for K295CF/WATERLOO, IA to NRG MEDIA's NRG LICENSE SUB, LLC for $50,635. The translator will rebroadcast Sports KWLO-A (1330 ESPN RADIO)/WATERLOO.
The Commission also ruled that CENTRO DE INTERCESIÓN Y ADORACIÓN INTERNACIONAL, INC.'s construction permit for noncommercial KCIY/HELENDALE, CA has expired and the permit forfeited. The permittee had certified that the station had signed on in time, but agents from the FCC found no signal, no evidence of construction, and no power lines within several miles of the site. The permittee asserted that the station had been on the air but was knocked off the air due to wind damage, but the Commission noted that even if this was the case, the station had not been constructed at the authorized site and within authorized parameters, or at least had built only temporary, unauthorized facilities for the purpose of signing on before the permit expired.
In CANADA, the CRTC approved the CBC's application to relocate CBQH/DRYDEN, ON (a transmitter of CBC RADIO ONE affiliate CBQT/THUNDER BAY) to a new site and downgrade from Class C to Class A (100,000 watts to 1,300 watts and 120 to 105.2 meters above average terrain)
And the CRTC also approved NORTHERN NATIVE BROADCASTING (TERRACE, BC)'s application to add a new rebroadcasting transmitter for low power Type B Native CFNR/TERRACE, BC at FORT NELSON, BC. The translator will operate on 96.1 FM with 8 watts at 36.7 meters.
