The federal government is suing BIRACH BROADCASTING CORP. for failure to pay a $17,000 FCC fine.
The suit, filed by U.S. Attorney BARBARA L. MCQUADE and assistant U.S. Attorney PETER A. CAPLAN, was filed WEDNESDAY (5/20) in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of MICHIGAN, Southern Division; it seeks payment of the $17,000 fine slapped on BIRACH in 2012 for public file and tower fencing violations at Oldies WCXI-A (OLDIES 1160)/FENTON, MI, plus interest.
BIRACH had contended that it does not own the tower site and should not have to pay, or that the fine should have been reduced, but the original fine was affirmed in FEBRUARY of this year.
