NORTHERN LIGHTS Alternative KTWN (GO 96.3)/MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL afternoon host THORN SKROCH is off the air due to serious medical issues, including a stroke and other health concerns, TWINCITIES.COM reports.
His family reports on his CARINGBRIDGE web page that SKROCH had "surgery to repair intestinal issues resulting from surgery earlier this week." On the bright side, a brain CT scan showed "no swelling or worsening of the stroke he had early TUESDAY morning." His wife, SHELLY GILBERTSON, wrote, "About 3:00 this morning I asked him if he could squeeze my hand and received a bone-crunching grip in response -- same reaction when I told him that the TIMBERWOLVES had finally received the #1 draft pick."
In his on-air absence, night-timer DJ MILES ANZALDO will take over the 4-8p shift, while LINNEA MOHN, who co-hosted afternoons with SKROCH, will segue to 8p-midnight.
