Thirteen radio broadcasting professionals have been named to the 2015 slate of candidates for nomination into THE GEORGIA RADIO HALL OF FAME as career achievement honorees. The formal announcement of inductees will be made at the GRHOF 9th Annual Induction Awards Ceremony on OCTOBER 24th at the EARL SMITH STRAND THEATRE in MARIETTA, GA.
This year’s career achievement candidates (and their most recent radio affiliation) are:
RON ARNOLD, WTTI/DALTON; DEANE CLARK, WKLS/ATLANTA; GEORGE VAN VOORHIS, aka GEORGE MASON DIXON, WDUN/GAINESVILLE; GREG MCCLURE, WSB/ATLANTA; VAL MCGINNESS, CLEAR CHANNEL/COLUMBUS; BOB NOBLE, WSB/ATLANTA; “SOUTHSIDE” STEVE RICKMAN, ROCK 100.5/ATLANTA; MARY CATHERINE SNEED, RADIO ONE/ATLANTA; STEVE SPLITT, COX ENTERPRISES/ATLANTA; CHRISTIE TANNER, WSB/ATLANTA; ALLEN TIBBETTS, WGMG (MAGIC 102.1)/ATHENS; LARRY TINSLEY, V-103/ATLANTA; BETH WALTERS, WHFX-WYNR/BRUNSWICK.
THE GEORGIA RADIO HALL OF FAME’s mission is to recognize today’s GEORGIA radio professionals as well as the pioneers who shaped radio in the state, since MARCH 15, 1922, when the first radio station in the state signed on the air.
