MAINE PUBLIC BROADCASTING NETWORK non-commercial Variety WMEA/PORTLAND, ME was knocked off the air early MONDAY (6/1) when a transmission line overheated and burned out, reports the PORTLAND PRESS HERALD.
The station is broadcasting on a low-power antenna until the main line can be repaired; CTO GIL MAXWELL told the PRESS HERALD that after repairs were delayed by driving rain on TUESDAY, a repair crew summoned from VERMONT is working on the problem and the station hopes to be back on full power as early as WEDNESDAY night.
