Metropolitan Opera Radio Host Margaret Juntwait Dies At 58

Condolences to family and friends of METROPOLITAN OPERA radio host and former noncommercial WNYC/NEW YORK host MARGARET JUNTWAIT, who died WEDNESDAY (6/3) from complications of ovarian cancer at 58, according to NPR.
JUNTWAIT joined WNYC, then owned by NEW YORK CITY, in 1991 as an assistant to "NEW SOUNDS" host JOHN SCHAEFER, then became a host of Classical shows on the station. She became the MET's SATURDAY broadcast host in 2004 and left WNYC to join the MET full-time in 2006, later hosting on the opera's SIRIUSXM channel; she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2004, but remained host of the MET broadcasts until this past NEW YEAR'S EVE.
