Radio Hall Of Fame Returns To Public Voting For Two Categories

The NATIONAL RADIO HALL OF FAME is returning to a public vote in two categories this year, the first time in five years that listeners will be able to vote on new members of the CHICAGO-based Hall.
ROBERTFEDER.COM reports that social media will be employed for the public to vote in two categories among eight nominees chosen by the steering committee; four other categories will be voted upon by a 400-person panel. The inductees will be honored at a ceremony on NOVEMBER 5th.
While the organization's bylaws include requirements that the public be involved in the nomination process, the steering committee has taken over that duty with no public input since 2011 after concerns of ballot-box stuffing. New Chairman KRAIG KITCHIN indicated the change in an ALL ACCESS Power Player interview last year, saying that nomination and voting should be "as transparent as possible to the entire industry" and voting "should be open to the public."
iHEARTMEDIA's DARREN DAVIS will help develop the social media strategy for voting.
