'WTF With Marc Maron' Obama Episode Sets Download Records

"WTF WITH MARC MARON" drew an expected boost from the guest appearance of President OBAMA on MONDAY's episode, but the podcast's numbers were bigger than anything the show has seen before, reports the NEW YORK TIMES. 

The show's hosting service LIBSYN says that the episode was downloaded 735,063 times in the first 24 hours of availability and more than 900,000 times in the first 36 hours, over triple MARON's previous high (an episode with PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON on JANUARY 5th) and over double the record for any LIBSYN-hosted show (previously held by DAN CARLIN's "HARDCORE HISTORY," for the MAY 6th episode).

The OBAMA edition of "WTF" was taped FRIDAY at MARON's HIGHLAND PARK garage; the President's use of the "n-word" in a discussion of American race relations drew international media attention.
