ABC News Radio Repeats Overall Excellence Win As 2015 National Edward R. Murrow Award Winners Announced

ABC NEWS RADIO and its television counterpart ABC NEWS both won network-level Overall Excellence Awards for the second year in a row as the RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS ASSOCIATION announced its national 2015 EDWARD R. MURROW AWARDS winners. Other Overall Excellence Awards winners included the DENVER POST and BURLINGTON FREE PRESS for online news, NBC affiliate KING-TV/SEATTLE and ABC affiliate KETV (TV)/OMAHA for television, and CBS RADIO News WCBS-A/NEW YORK and NEW HAMPSHIRE PUBLIC RADIO for radio.
In network radio, NPR won for Hard News, Use of Sound and Investigative Reporting; CBS RADIO NEWS took home awards for Continuing Coverage, Feature Reporting and Newscast. STATE OF THE RE:UNION won for News Documentary, while podcast "SERIAL" won for News Series. Among local stations, multiple winners included BONNEVILLE News-Talk KIRO-F/SEATTLE and ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY noncommercial WGLT/NORMAL, IL. Overall, 104 awards were given in 13 categories.
"From investigations that probe the issues that divide us, to features that highlight what can unite us, our winners are truly the best of the best," said RTDNA Chair AMY TARDIF. "Their work demonstrates the dedication and perseverance that exemplify the highest standards of journalism excellence."
