Longtime WEZX/Wilkes-Barre DJ Jeffrey Longaven Passes

Longtime NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA radio personality JEFFREY LONGAVEN passed away SUNDAY afternoon (6/28) at the GOLDEN LIVING CENTER-EAST MOUNTAIN in WILKES-BARRE after a lengthy illness, the TIMES TRIBUNE reports. He was 61.
LONGAVEN, on-air a.k.a. JAY DANIELS, co-hosted the morning show on Classic Rock WEZX (ROCK 107)/WILKES-BARRE for a quarter-century as part of the team of DANIELS & WEBSTER. He started at the station in JANUARY, 1985, hosting the morning show solo until the following MARCH, when JOHN GASPER, a.k.a. JOHN WEBSTER, came aboard. The pair co-hosted the show through MARCH 2010, when GASPER resigned.
In JULY 2010, LONGAVEN segued to middays, until he left the station in APRIL 2011.
