FULCRUM COMMUNITY COMMUNICATIONS has been granted a low power FM construction permit at SEATTLE, WA.
In CANADA, the CBC has received CRTC approval for a new FM rebroadcasting transmitter at MALARTIC, QC for CBC RADIO 1 affiliate CBVE/QUEBEC CITY to replace AM rebroadcasting transmitters CBMN-A/MALARTIC and CBML-A/VAL-D'OR. The new retransmitter will operate with 50,000 watts at 189.1 meters above average terrain on 101.1 FM.
The CBC also won CRTC approval for power increases for CBFX-FM-3/AMOS, QC, a rebroadcaster of ICI MUSIQUE affiliate CBFX/MONTREAL, and CHLM-FM-1/AMOS-VAL-D'OR, QC, a rebroadcaster of ICI RADIO-CANADA PREMIÈRE affiliate CHLM/ROUYN-NARANDA. The CBFX rebroadcasting transmitter is moving to MALARTIC and doubling from 50,000 watts (Class B) to 100,000 watts (Class C1) at 189.1 meters. The CHLM rebroadcaster is also moving to the MALARTIC site, also doubling to 100,000 watts, and also increasing to 189.1 meters.
And the CBC also received the nod from the CRTC to increase power at CBYT-F/CAMPBELL RIVER, BC, a rebroadcasting transmitter of CBC RADIO 1 affiliate CBCV/VICTORIA, from 88 watts (Class A1) to 250 watts (Class A) and from 104 to 114.8 meters above average terrain.
Also, JIM PATTISON BROADCAST GROUP LTD. PARTNERSHIP was granted CRTC approval for a facility change at Classic Hits CHBW (B-94)/ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE, AB, increasing from 720 to 810 watts but dropping height from 71.5 to 66.3 meters above average terrain at a new site, necessitated because of a change in ownership at the current site.
