Three of BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE's attorneys in his defense against a lawsuit by radio rival TODD SCHNITT have been found guilty of all but one charge against them in an ethics cast before the FLORIDA BAR.
The lawyers, STEPHEN DIACO, ADAM FILTHAUT, and ROBERT ADAMS, were found to have set up SCHNITT's attorney PHIL CAMPBELL for a DUI arrest that also left DIACO and ADAMS in possession of CAMPBELL's briefcase. The TAMPA TRIBUNE reports that the bar's referee for the case, retired PINELLAS COUNTY Circuit Judge W. DOUGLAS BAIRD, has scheduled a sanctions hearing for AUGUST 6th and 7th in the matter, with a report to the FLORIDA Supreme Court to be compiled by AUGUST 31st, at which time the court will decide on the trio's punishment.
DIACO, FILTHAUT, and ADAMS, all of the ADAMS AND DIACO firm, allegedly set CAMPBELL up on JANUARY 23rd, 2013, when a paralegal for their firm, MELISSA PERSONIUS, spotted CAMPBELL at MALIO'S STEAKHOUSE in TAMPA and, after calling ADAMS, sitting next to CAMPBELL; CAMPBELL and PERSONIUS bought each other drinks, and PERSONIUS relayed their conversation to ADAMS. ADAMS contacted DIACO, who contacted FILHAUT, who called the head of the TAMPA Police DUI unit, Sgt. RAYMOND FERNANDEZ, who had officers follow CAMPBELL after PERSONIUS insisted he move her car rather than leave it overnight with the valet and get a cab.
DIACO's attorney GREG KEHOE told the TRIBUNE, “We’re obviously disappointed in the court’s ruling ... We will be appealing to the Supreme Court."
