After a stint as APD and then Interim PD, AMY MILLER has officially been promoted to PD of NORTH TEXAS PUBLIC BROADCASTING Triple A KKXT (KXT 91.7)/DALLAS.
Since joining the station last year, MILLER has been instrumental in attracting national and local artists for KXT’s LIVE SESSIONS, booking the popular BAREFOOT AT THE BELMONT concert series and expanding the station’s online presence.
“AMY has proven to be an effective leader with bold ideas to advance KXT and its mission to be the best source of music discovery in NORTH TEXAS,” said NORTH TEXAS PUBLIC BROADCASTING Pres./CEO MARY ANNE ALHADEFF.
MILLER said of the promotion, “I’m looking forward to contributing to KXT and the local music community in this new role. There’s a bright future for KXT and I’m happy to play a part in it and work with such a wonderful team.”
MILLER has held positions at several stations across the country, including Triple A WTYD in WILLIAMSBURG, VA., which she helped launch in 2005 and was PD until 2009. She also has held the positions of Programming Assistant at Triple A KFOG/SAN FRANCISCO and Promotions Director at KZSC/SANTA CRUZ.
She replaces MARK ABUZZAHAB, who exited in MARCH to join VUHAUS.
With MILLER’s promotion, the APD slot at KKXT is now open. The station is looking for a person with a strong knowledge of the Triple A format, a passion for music and a minimum of three years on-air experience (public radio preferred).
