While the AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA GROUP sale of WKCP/MIAMI, WPBI/WEST PALM BEACH, and WNPS/FORT MYERS, FL, to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $21.7 million has now been filed with the FCC (NET NEWS 7/8) and ENTERCOM's deal to buy the LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA stations and swap four DENVER outlets to BONNEVILLE for Classic Rock KSWD-F (100.3 THE SOUND)/LOS ANGELES has been cleared by the DOJ but awaits closing in the coming days (NET NEWS 7/14), the FCC deals database is otherwise relatively quiet on WEDNESDAY morning.
Among the filings, MAHALO BROADCASTING, L.L.C. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for KHNU-A/HILO, HI after high winds toppled its temporary long wire antenna; the station is seeking a new sire, is in the process of being sold, and is subject to various negotiations between MAHALO, collections agencies, and the U.S. Treasury to resolve financial issues.
EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale the construction permit for W260CF/MANCHESTER, NH to SAGA COMMUNICATIONS OF NEW ENGLAND, LLC for $45,000. EDGEWATER has also closed on the sale of the construction permit for K282BF/ODESSA, TX to JAVIER FLORES for $40,000.
THE ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY EDUCATION, INC. has closed on the sale of K292GF/BAKER, CA to VIC MICHAEL's MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY TRANSLATORS, LLC for $10,000.
And JAMES A. TURVAVILLE d/b/a TURBO TECHNICAL SERVICES has closed on the sale of K288FQ/LAWTON, OK to FRED and EVELYN MORTON for $33,000.
Also, HAITIAN RELIEF RADIO AND COMMUNITY SERVICES, INC. has been granted a construction permit for a new Low Power FM station in ORLANDO, FL.
In CANADA, CITY CHURCH HALIFAX has been granted a height increase for the antenna of low power Religion CIRP (LIFE 94.7)/SPRYFIELD, NS. The station is raising its height above average terrain from 22 to 25.5 meters. Although the station has previously been denied a power increase, the height change is intended to aid in filling in reception gaps in its present coverage area.
