TAYLOR SWIFT officially made nice with NICKI MINAJ this morning after a social media feud broke out yesterday in the wake of the MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARD nominations, which left MINAJ's "Anaconda" clip out of the "Video of the Year" category, even though it did receive nominations for "Best Female Video" and "Best Hip-Hop Video."
I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ— Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) July 23, 2015
MINAJ originally took to TWITTER to voice her objection, declaring if "she were a different kind of artist," she might be considered differently, suggesting racism and/or body image were at the root of the snub..
If I was a different "kind" of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well.
ABC NEWS reports that MINAJ soon responded by accepting the apology.
"That means so much TAYLOR, thank you," she wrote. "I've always loved her. Everyone makes mistakes. She gained so much more respect from me. Let's move on."
