Garth Brooks Tops Country Touring Sales In Pollstar's Mid-Year Report

POLLSTAR has released its 2015 mid-year touring report, and numbers indicate that touring revenues continue to grow across all genres. The Top 100 tours all-genre generated a combined $1.43 billion gross, up 39% over 2014 with a record 18.8 million tickets sold by the Top 100 touring artists.
In Country-specific touring, GARTH BROOKS takes the top slot, earning $79.9 million gross during his 74 shows in 13 cities thus far. BROOKS comes in at #2 overall, surpassed only by THE ROLLING STONES, who garnered $80.7 million gross with their 10-city "ZIP CODES TOUR." While BROOKS hit three more cities than THE STONES and sold just over 1.2 million tickets to their 452,000 tickets, BROOKS held his average ticket price to $66.23, over 2.5 times less than THE STONES' average ticket price of $178.44.
Other Country artists who ranked in the Top 50 in POLLSTAR's mid-year report include KENNY CHESNEY (#4 with $55.8 million gross), TAYLOR SWIFT (#8 with $35.6 million gross), LUKE BRYAN (#12 with $25.9 million gross), ERIC CHURCH (#15 with $24.4 million gross), SHANIA TWAIN (#25 with $17.0 million gross), MIRANDA LAMBERT (#28 with 16.0 million gross), FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE (#30 with 14.9 million gross), JASON ALDEAN (#35 with 14.3 million gross), and BRAD PAISLEY (#48 with 10.2 million gross).
