Art Laboe To Be Honored By County Of Los Angeles

The public and media are invited to join MERUELO MEDIA Rhythmic AC KDAY/LOS ANGELES as County Supervisor MIKE ANTONOVICH and the County Board of Supervisors honor music and broadcast pioneer ART LABOE for, "the significant impact his lifetime of work in radio and rock n' roll has had on our county, state and nation," at a special presentation of the County Board of Supervisors' weekly meeting when the Board will proclaim "ART LABOE Day" in LOS ANGELES COUNTY.
“I first came to LOS ANGELES at the age of 11 in 1936. Graduated from GEORGE WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL in SOUTH LOS ANGELES in the SUMMER of 1942 and began my LA broadcasting career in 1949,” said LABOE. “Thank you to all the dedicated listeners through the years for making this achievement possible. I'm your homeboy! Proud to be a part of LA and doubly proud to receive this great honor from the County of LOS ANGELES. Thank you"
The event is scheduled for TUESDAY, AUGUST 4th at 10a. There's no charge/fee to attend. It happens at KENNETH HAHN Hall of Administration, Room 381B (3rd Floor Board Hearing Room), Downtown LA at 500 West Temple Street near the southeast corner of Temple St. and Grand Avenue.
