Def Jam Presents Alessia Cara At The Troubadour
August 6, 2015 at 11:30 AM (PT)
On WEDNESDAY night (8/5), DEF JAM presented the exciting new performer ALESSIA CARA in her first ever L.A. appearance at the TROUBADOUR.
We were treated first to a soulful opening set from CARA co-writer/producer and singer/songwriter SEBASTIAN KOLE. After which, the sold out crowd waited anxiously for CARA to take the stage, erupting in excitement upon seeing the young singer peer from behind the greenroom curtain, waving to them below.
Moments later, after a brief introduction by CHICAGO Hip Hop producer NO I.D., she took the stage, opening her set with "Baby I'm Yours," a track from her upcoming EP, "Four Pink Walls."
Saying it was "weird and amazing, spectacular and awesome ..." the singer thanked the crowd again and again throughout her powerful set which included "Outlaws," a cover of the NEIGHBOURHOOD track "Sweater Weather" and audience-requested acapella verse of the MARK RONSON/AMY WINEHOUSE collaboration "Valerie," ode to teen angst, "Seventeen" and her current chart hit "Here."
Thank you to our DEF JAM friends, RICK SACKHEIM, NICKI FARAG, CHERYL BROZ, NOAH SHEER and the entire DEF JAM staff for a great evening of music.
