ENTERCOM Active Rock WAAF/BOSTON collected over $70,000 for the GREATER BOSTON, WORCESTER COUNTY, and NEW HAMPSHIRE Food Banks over three days last WEDNESDAY through FRIDAY in its annual Rock for Change event, taking donations to play requests for any song the donor wanted to hear.. WAAF has raised over $1.1 million for the food banks over the last 24 years.
GREATER BOSTON FOOD BANK President/CEO CATHERINE D'AMATO said, “For over 20 years (morning host) GREG HILL and the entire WAAF team have creatively supported the GREATER BOSTON FOOD BANK's mission. We are so grateful for their generosity of giving us three days’ worth of airtime for this event and their leadership, commitment and dedication to End Hunger Here in our community.”
WAAF Program Director and Brand Manager RON VALERI said, “It’s always so gratifying to see station staff and food bank personnel pulling together to help people for the holidays and beyond. Even more inspiring though, is seeing how many WAAF listeners will reach into their pockets to pay for all those meals. These listeners understand that hunger hurts, but they also know they can actually do something about it. Their donations truly make an immediate difference!”
