DEEZER has analysed its catalog of over 35 million tracks through its "Lyrics" function, and determined which artists, albums, songs and genres use the most vulgar, filthy and obscene language, and it turns out it’s been a "sweary" good year.
The ultimate foul-mouthed offender and artist coming in at number one is LIL WAYNE. His raunchy tracks makes up two of the top ten songs with the most swear words including his hit, "Beat the S***" taking the number one spot with 188 offensive terms. Also, topping the list of musicians who have the filthiest mouths are SNOOP DOG and his genius lyrics at number two, the arsenal flows of JAY Z at three, 2PAC at four with DMX and his nasty language taking the fifth spot.
The top ten list of artists is as follows:
- LIL WAYNE
- SNOOP DOGG
- JAY Z
- RICK ROSS
- BUSTA RHYMES
- FIFTY CENT
- ICE CUBE
“After analysing millions of songs, the results have shown that there is a real mix of new and old artists who need to watch their language, with several repeat offenders such as LIL WAYNE and 2PAC,” said DEEZER U.K. & IRELAND Music Editor SAM LEE. “8 of the 10 most foul-mouthed songs have curse words in their title, and there is a minimum of 130 explicit words in each song. Sweary songs may be NSFW or for holiday family gatherings but there's no denying their continuing popularity -- whether your Granny likes it or not."
