DANIEL GLASS' GLASSNOTE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP has signed JUNO AWARD-winning alt-rock band THE STRUMBELLAS to a worldwide deal outside of CANADA. The group is set to release their new album, "Hope," produced and engineered by DAVE SCHIFFMAN (JOHNNY CASH, HAIM, WEEZER) in APRIL.
Hailing from LINDSAY, ONTARIO, THE STRUMBELLAS released their debut album, "My Father And The Hunter," in 2012. Their 2013 sophomore effort, "We Still Move On Dance Floors," earned them a JUNO and SIRIUSXM INDIE AWARD, as well as a spot on the POLARIS MUSIC PRIZE LONG LIST.
Commented label Founder/Pres. GLASS: “THE STRUMBELLAS’ powerful, anthemic music is a force to be reckoned with. I can’t wait for people to hear them play live. I am extremely proud and honoured to have them join the GLASSNOTE team.”
Added lead singer SIMON WARD: “I’m not sure what made me more nervous – when my first child was being born or when the President of GLASSNOTE RECORDS flew up to our hometown to meet with us. Having our band,be a part of the GLASSNOTE team is literally a dream come true for us. GLASSNOTE is everything we’ve ever wanted for a label and it feels like home. It feels like a family already. It feels like all of those days that I spent as a kid, naked in front of a mirror singing to SINEAD O'CONNOR are finally starting to pay off.”
CBC MUSIC has named THE STRUMBELLAS "BAND TO WATCH."
