ALL ACCESS sends condolences to the family and friends of JOHN TYLER. Our friends at REACH MEDIA informed us that they had learned the Founding Partner of the SATELLITE MUSIC NETWORK & THE SATELLITE RADIO NETWORK had recently passed.
REACH SVP/Marketing; Events; & Digital MARTY RAAB said, "JOHN TYLER was everything. He was a visionary, mentor and leader that created confidence among all. Two comments that guide me TODAY. “Lawyers are wrong 50% of the time. What do you really think-- and so what if they copy us, you know we'll do it better.”
“From listeners that got great programming to all of us that got to work for him and benefited by his legacy. He impacted peoples lives in more ways than anyone can ever count. I am blessed to have worked with JOHN and know him."
“Long before social media, JOHN TYLER figured out how to create community on radio with good talent, audience interaction and music everyone loved. And limited expenses to owners allowing them that thrive in a challenging marketplace with lots of competition. ZUCKERBERG owes him a complement.”
SATELLITE MUSIC NETWORK was the first satellite-delivered music radio network. ABC bought the company and its nine channels of programming in 1989. The division continues to operate under the CUMULUS MEDIA umbrella.
