Radio One Files For FM Translators To Help AM Properties

RADIO ONE has filed with the FCC for translator purchases in an effort to help its AM properties in several markets:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- $50,000 is to be paid to HE’S ALIVE Inc. for BEAVER, PA-licensed FM translator W250BT at 97.9. The signal will be moved to the D. C market and paired with WOL (NEWS TALK 1450-A)
BOSTON -- Currently brokered WILD (1090-A) will simulcast with the $40,000 purchase of UTICA, NY licensed FM translator W231BI at 94.1. They are buying it from the EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION and will be moved to the BOSTON market.
CINCINNATI/CLEVELAND -- In OHIO the company is buying two more translators from the EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $125,000.
The SPRINGFIELD, OH licensed FM translator W296BO at 107.1 for $65,000. It will simulcast with WDBZ (PRAISE 1230-A)/CINCINNATI.
Also ELIDA, OH licensed FM translator W253AJ at 98.5 bought for $60,000. It will be moved to simulcast in the CLEVELAND market with WERE (NEWS TALK 1490-A).
VIRGINIA -- $65,000 to LIBERY UNIVERSITY for the SOUTH BOSTON, VA-licensed FM translator W279AN at 103.7. The plans are to move it to the RICHMOND market and simulcast with Talk/R&B Oldies WTPS (1240-A)
