The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK OWNED BROADCASTERS (NABOB) and PERSONAL SELLING PRINCIPLES are partnering to expand THE MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE program to the ATLANTA UNIVERSITY CENTER CONSORTIUM (AUC).
The AUC partners are CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY, MOREHOUSE COLLEGE, and SPELMAN COLLEGE. The new program will be led by the Marketing Department at MOREHOUSE COLLEGE/ATLANTA, GA. The series will run MARCH 7th-17th. Additional funding for the initiative has been provided by COMCAST SPOTLIGHT, the COX ORGANIZATION, THE GANNETT FOUNDATION, NIELSEN, and AUTOTRADER.
The MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE at the AUC will be the first of its kind to recruit military veterans (Post 9/11), career changers, and college graduates. The curriculum is designed to prepare talented individuals with diverse backgrounds for an entry-level position in radio, television, cable, print, digital, and interactive sales.
NABOB Pres. JIM WINSTON said, “Since partnering with the program in 2006, The NABOB MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE has a proven track record of preparing talented individuals for entry level sales positions in media. This model has an 85% placement rate within 45 days and over 93% after 60 days. This is what we are excited to build upon.”
PSP 1 Principal/Developer of THE MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE (MSI) JEFFREY P. MYERS said, “The program was designed to become the industry's gateway to media sales success. I believe in its evolutionary process. This will be the first MSI to integrate three technologically savvy populations into one--creating a rich learning environment for a career in media sales."
THE MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE program was developed by media management/sales training company, PERSONAL SELLING PRINCIPLES, LLC in 1999 and launched at HOWARD UNIVERSITY in 2000. It’s an intense 10-day, real-world sales training program designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in media sales.
