Stitcher Goes Down Over The Weekend, But Now It's Back Up And Running
February 15, 2016 at 4:04 AM (PT)
Podcast aggregation app and website STITCHER has returned to operation after being down most of the weekend and into MONDAY (2/15). For most of the weekend, the website sported a graphic showing an AM/FM receiver with wires and smoke coming out of it and the message "We're Sorry, Site down for maintenance, please come back later." But early MONDAY afternoon, after some intermittent returns and longer dark stretches, the service was finally fully operational.
On FACEBOOK at about midnight, STITCHER wrote, " 1/ As some may have noticed we came up briefly tonight for some testing. Good news is data looks good so far. 2/ That said, there are still a couple issues causing problems when we are up so we need to run those to ground. 3/ We are targeting morning (Pacific Time) to come back up again and test stability. 4/ IMPORTANT - if you are an Android user please download version 3.5.1 in the Play Store (available later tonight) - you will need this to get in once we are back up. 5/ Once again, thanks for your patience and for the inspiring outpouring of support. Crossing our fingers that we will be back in your ears tomorrow."
And, finally, on MONDAY afternoon, a post read, "1/After a lot of hard work we are happy to report that we are up and running! 2/Take it easy on us - we will need a bit of time to catch up on new episodes since Friday and the Front Page won’t update for a bit yet. 3/If you are using Android, you will need to upgrade immediately to version 3.5.1, now available in the Play Store 4/We will be monitoring the service closely but if you see issues (and you may), please report to firstname.lastname@example.org 5/Again, thank you for your extreme patience and loyalty. Happy listening."
