DETROIT TIGERS radio voice DAN DICKERSON and TV announcer MARIO IMPEMBA will swap jobs at least 10 times this season, the DETROIT NEWS is reporting.
The move, which the NEWS reports was encouraged by TIGERS owner MIKE ILITCH, will put longtime TIGERS radio voice DICKERSON on FOX SPORTS DETROIT for up to 20 games and IMPEMBA on TIGERS flagship CBS RADIO Sports WXYT-F (97.1 THE TICKET)/DETROIT for those dates.
DICKERSON has called TIGERS games exclusively on radio since 2000, when he joined the late, legendary ERNIE HARWELL, while IMPEMBA, who called LOS ANGELES (then ANAHEIM) ANGELS baseball on radio before arriving in DETROIT, has been the TIGERS' TV voice since 2002.
