The next edition of the "Vinyl" soundtrack, Volume 1.2, is available today -- ironically, given its title -- at digital retailers and streaming services to preview this SUNDAY's second episode of the MARTIN SCORSESE-MICK JAGGER-TERENCE WINTER HBO series that has met with decidedly mixed reviews among industry insiders.
This week's installment of "Vinyl: Music From The HBO Original Series" on ATLANTIC and WARNER BROS. RECORDS features THE DEL TOROS ("Night Life"), JERRY LEE LEWIS ("Breathless"), JULIAN CASABLANCAS (covering THE VELVET UNDERGROUND's "Run Run Run"), AIMEE MANN ("Yesterday Once More") and DON COVAY ("Everything I Do Goin' Be Funky").
Every FRIDAY will bring a new musical release tied to each subsequent SUNDAY’s episode of "Vinyl," culminating with a second full-length soundtrack in conjunction with the series’ APRIL 17th season finale. The innovative soundtrack series kicked off last FRIDAY (FEBRUARY 12th) with the release of an 18-track, full length soundtrack featuring music from the show's season premiere.
Each of the weekly musical offerings will feature a combination of original tracks written and recorded exclusively for the series, vintage songs from the period re-recorded by contemporary artists, and a wealth of catalog favorites, all either appearing in or inspired by music in the series.
