This past weekend, DONALD TRUMP’s political rally at the GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER in ATLANTA made national headlines when its was interrupted by a protester who was able to shut off the lights while the GOP Presidential candidate was speaking. CUMULUS MEDIA Classic Rock WNNX(ROCK 100.5)/ATLANTA's morning show BAILEY AND SOUTHSIDE, secured the first and only interview with the protester who goes by "VERONICA."
During the interview, VERONICA told hosts BAILEY AND SOUTHSIDE her reasoning behind the stunt, how she was able to shut the lights off, and the charges she received by the Secret Service, GBI, and the WORLD CONGRESS CENTER authorities. According to VERONICA, she was unhappy with TRUMP's comments on prisoners of war, immigrants, and other groups in AMERICA.
When BAILEY asked VERONICA how she did it, she said, “I was on the far left side of the stage. The sound man kept leaving. I had a ridged (TRUMP) sign and raked the sliders all down to zero. I thought I was going to cut the sound...I then realized I had cut the lights.” She was stopped by the Secret Service and questioned, and then was turned over to the WORLD CONGRESS CENTER authorities.
BAILEY asked if it was worth it, to which VERONICA replied “Well, I did feel like I fought the power.”
