The DETROIT FREE PRESS reports that the old transmitter building for CBS RADIO News WWJ-A/DETROIT will be renovated as a restaurant by the UNION JOINTS restaurant group.
The historic building in OAK PARK, designed by ALBERT KAHN, was built for WWJ in 1936 and used until 1995. It will be redone for a new restaurant tentatively named 8MK, to open in 2017 and feature a DJ booth and event venue, UNION JOINTS co-owner CURT CATALLO announced last week. His company is buying the building from AMERICAN TOWER CORP.
