KDKA/Pittsburgh And Pirates Extend Broadcast Agreement

CBS RADIO News/Talk/Sports KDKA (SPORTSRADIO 93.7 THE FAN)/PITTSBURGH and the baseball PIRATES have agreed to a multi-year broadcast contract extension for the station to continue to be the team's flagship station and broadcast a total of 16 spring training games, all 162 regular season games, and all post-season action each year of the agreement.
CBS RADIO PITTSBURGH SVP/Market Manager MICHAEY YOUNG commented: “SPORTSRADIO 93.7 THE FAN is very excited to continue broadcasting PITTSBURGH PIRATES baseball games and in-depth PIRATES related programming. Station listeners have enthusiastically embraced PIRATES games and programs since the radio station began partnering with the team four years ago, and we are looking forward to many more exciting seasons.”

In addition, SPORTSRADIO 93.7 THE FAN supplements the game broadcasts with PIRATES programming throughout the season, including its pre- and post-game shows and other PIRATES specials. The broadcasts will once again feature announcers STEVE BLASS, GREG BROWN, BOB WALK and JOHN WEHNER, along with the newest broadcast addition, play-by-play man JOE BLOCK. BROWN and BLOCK will handle the play-by-play duties while BLASS, WALK and WEHNER serve as color analysts.
