JACOBS MEDIA's TECHSURVEY12 -- which will have its debut at the upcoming WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2016 at noon on THURSDAY, APRIL 14th – consists of nearly 40,000 respondents representing well more than 200 radio stations across NORTH AMERICA.
Here's a sneak peak at one of the key data points from the study:
What Is The Best Methodology For Radio Contests?
JACOBS MEDIA President FRED JACOBS, who will present TECHSURVEY12 at WWRS 2016, commented, "Just about every radio station runs contests, but few have ever taken a closer look into the preferred contest methodology for their unique audience.”
Over half of TS12’s respondents say they participate in radio contests frequently or occasionally. This large group was asked whether the phone, texting, or website registration was the optimal entry method.
“It’s fascinating to learn that our huge sample is almost evenly split among the different contest methodology choices. Millennials are the one group that is especially interested in text messaging as the contest entry point. We learned a great deal about the audience when we took a a deeper dive, and looked at methodologies by format.”
"The three formats featured on this slide – Triple A, Adult Contemporary, and Alternative – represent very different contest entry preferences. TECHSURVEY12 stakeholder stations will have this data for their discreet local audiences.
JACOBS concluded, "We’ll have the complete format breakouts for contest entry as well as the key findings for the rest of this historic survey at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2016 in HOLLYWOOD APRIL 14, 15, and 16. The TECHSURVEY12 reveal takes place on APRIL 14th at noon. Hope to see you there."
