LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS basketball has a new home on the local radio dial, moving to iHEARTMEDIA Sports KLAC-A (AM 570 LA SPORTS)/LOS ANGELES in a multi-year deal that starts with SATURDAY's game at MEMPHIS. The CLIPPERS were heard until now on what was KFWB ASSET TRUST Sports KFWB-A (THE BEAST 980), which has flipped to South Asian "DESI 980" under new owners UNIVERSAL MEDIA ACCESS. Games bumped from KLAC due to conflicts with LOS ANGELES DODGERS baseball will air on sister News-Talk KEIB-A (THE PATRIOT).
BRIAN SIEMAN continues as the CLIPPERS' radio voice, ISAAC LOWENKRON will continue to host pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows, and CLIPPERS FOX SPORTS PRIME TICKET broadcasters RALPH LAWLER and MICHAEL SMITH will join SIEMAN when the CLIPPERS are on national television and not on PRIME TICKET.
“AM 570 LA SPORTS/KLAC has long been the premier destination for sports in Los Angeles,” said CLIPPERS Pres./Business Operations GILLIAN ZUCKER. “We are proud to establish an exceptional, long-term destination for CLIPPERS basketball on the radio with a station that sounds like it was named for us.”
"IHEARTMEDIA LOS ANGELES and the L.A. CLIPPERS just reinforced the fact that AM 570 LA SPORTS is the No. 1 destination for sport in LOS ANGELES," said iHEARTMEDIA SVP/Sports, LOS ANGELES DON MARTIN. "Welcome to your new home, CLIPPER Nation!”
