The FBI and state and local police seized about 50 pieces of computer equipment and accessories from the NEW HAMPSHIRE duplex from which the syndicated Talk show "FREE TALK LIVE" is broadcast on SUNDAY (3/20).
Show host IAN FREEMAN told the CONCORD MONITOR that agents pounded on the door at about 6:40a (ET) SUNDAY and presented a warrant alleging that someone using the Internet connection at the house had accessed a child pornography site set up by the FBI in a sting operation, an allegation that FREEMAN denies, adding that he shares the home with two roommates and that several people have the password to the Wi-Fi network there.
The show was temporarily back up and running on SUNDAY night, and co-hosts T.J. PARK and MARK EDGE noted that the libertarian-themed show had a week earlier highlighted the same FBI kiddie porn sting operation and had called the FBI child pornographers. “It’s clear they’re willing to do whatever they can to disrupt the liberty movement here,” said FREEMAN, who has been embroiled in a dispute with other libertarians in NEW HAMPSHIRE over comments on whether states should set ages of consent, which he opposes while not supporting sex with children.
The FBI confirmed to the MONITOR that a warrant had been executed but added no other details. And to the MANCHESTER UNION LEADER, an FBI attorney said that the warrant was a search, not a raid. No arrests were made in the operation.
