EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS Gospel WLIB (1190-A)/NEW YORK, hosted its 9th annual radiothon in support of ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S Hospital, raising more than $121,000 for the institute.
During the two-day radiothon, air personalities BISHOP HEZEKIAH WALKER & NEICY TRIBBET, YOLANDA ADAMS, and LIZ BLACK broadcasted live from the NEW YORK studios. Meanwhile, volunteers accepted pledges over the phone.
All collections go directly to ST. JUDE to support their mission to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases; through research and treatment. Over the past nine years, WLIB has helped raise over $1.4 million for ST. JUDE and will continue to assist in the fight against cancer and diseases that affect our children.
GM CHARLIE MORGAN said, “Being able to support ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL each year is truly an honor. WLIB is in a unique position where we can reach hundreds of thousands of people over the airwaves in just a few minutes, and then thousands more online and through social media. By utilizing all of our assets, we are able to come together to support one important need; raise funds to help find a cure to childhood cancers. WLIB and all of EMMIS NEW YORK hope that one day we'll live in a world where cancer and diseases no longer affect our children.”
